

The next step in making this quilt was to do the borders. First, the plain red border. Before attaching it I had to carefully measure the length and width of the quilt top to be sure the borders were exactly the right length to help square it up. I had already made 160 flying geese units. I sewed them together in pairs, then these units into long strips. How excited I was when the strip of flying geese exactly lined up with the border!
