A Blank Canvas (Literally)

Ah, the start of a new needlepoint project! This will be a picture of a fine lady out in a field. It is a copy of a piece done by Hannah Carter at a Boston boarding school in 1748. I'll try to match her beautiful work.

A Little Wall Hanging

Here's a fun little project I picked up in Grand Rapids last August. The tiny 2-inch squares have been a challenge; accuracy is very important. The rows of pieced strips will alternate with solid tan stripes with embroidery of flowers and greenery.

Lap Robe

I worked on this lap robe off and on for quite a while. When it came to quilting it on my sewing machine, I had no idea how large and heavy it was. The quilting did not go well - lots of wrinkles on the back. I decided to give it to someone who cared more for warmth than craftsmanship, so I passed it on to Northville Civic Concern. Hopefully it will keep some elderly lady warm while she watches TV.
