Oops!
I've been working on my needlepoint picture and the quilt for Mark and have made a few mistakes. One is easy to spot and easy to fix. Take a look at the quilt block and it is obvious to see that the star is not a star. I ripped out the little square, gave it a quarter turn, and resewed it. Easy!
It's a good thing the needlepoint mistake is not obvious, because I cannot undo it. The light blue on the right should be a darker color, then the lighter, and finally, the darker one again. When I am done there will be bigger blocks of color instead of a more gradual change of color. Not quite as pretty, but, hopefully, not too noticeable.

A Blank Canvas (Literally)
Ah, the start of a new needlepoint project! This will be a picture of a fine lady out in a field. It is a copy of a piece done by Hannah Carter at a Boston boarding school in 1748. I'll try to match her beautiful work.

Coin Purse
Quick, easy projects are always fun to do. This little coin purse is just what I needed after I finished the large "Creation" piece. Thanks, Jurdis, for giving it to me.

A Fat Pillow
When you take a slightly too-big pillow and stuff it into a too-small cover, this is what you get. My pinwheel pillow was fun to make using a variety of scraps. Now it is a great lumbar support!

Little Laddie
Well over forty years ago my Aunt Gena sent away to the "Wisconsin Agriculturist and Farmer" for the quilt pattern, Little Laddie. Either she or my mother cut out many pieces of cotton to make laddie's overalls, sleeves, shoes, hat, and hands. Then it sat... for a very long time. Mom gave it to me and I have had it since my son was little. Finally(!) I got it out and decided to do something with it. Instead of making an entire quilt, I appliqued just four of the lads and made a pillow. I did hand-applique and embroidery, and machine quilted in a crosshatch pattern.
